The Ministry of Finance aims to strengthen its efforts to promote transparency and efficiency in the use of public resources by aligning with European standards for public procurement in the process of European integration.
In this respect, the Cooperation Agreement on Public Procurement was signed between the Ministry of Finance and the Lithuanian Central Procurement Organisation (CPO LT). This agreement is part of the third project of the concept of support for administrative and institutional capacity building in the Republic of Moldova, with a view to European integration and the implementation of centralised digital procurement.
Cooperation will involve the provision of technical and advisory support, the exchange of experience and the promotion of best practices in the field of public procurement. It will also include assistance in the development and implementation of policies and reforms needed to improve the procurement process, in line with European standards.
According to the agreement, CPO LT committed to support the Ministry of Finance through its best practices in integrating advanced digital solutions into the procurement system. This change in the Republic of Moldova’s public procurement system will help to better prepare the country for joining the European community, as the digitalisation of centralised public procurement is a priority for the EU in terms of transparency in public procurement and efficient use of public finances.
The Cooperation Agreement marks a crucial step in strengthening the bilateral partnership between the Republic of Moldova and Lithuania, reinforcing the efforts of both countries to promote common values and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
The project is implemented under Concept 3 of the Lithuanian Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid Fund "Support to the Strengthening of Administrative and Institutional Capacities in the Field of Euro Integration in Moldova” for a duration of 12 months.
