On December 6, 2024, Minister of Finance Victoria Belous represented the Republic of Moldova at the 26th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB), held in Istanbul, Turkey, in her capacity as Governor of the BSTDB on behalf of the Republic of Moldova. The event marked 25 years since the start of the Bank's operational activities and brought together high-level representatives from the 11 member states, partner institutions, and international organizations.
The meeting was an important platform for assessing the Bank's activities and discussing the strategy for the coming years. In addition to the official sessions and the signing ceremony, the Board approved Phase 2 of the Medium-Term Strategy and Business Plan 2023-2026, which aims to return to the institution's steady growth model.
Victoria Belous emphasized the importance of regional collaboration and support provided by BCDMN for the economic development of the Republic of Moldova. So far, the bank has financed projects worth € 325.5 million in Moldova, focusing on supporting small and medium-sized enterprises.
By participating in this meeting, the Republic of Moldova reaffirms its commitment to regional economic cooperation and to capitalizing on the opportunities offered by the BCDMN to stimulate economic growth and sustainable development.
