FIRST STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING OF THE PROJECT “SUPPORT THE MOLDOVAN GOVERNMENT IN IDENTIFYING AND PREPARING PROJECTS LINKEDTO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ASSOCIATION AGREEMENT RM-EU”

The EU-funded Technical Assistance Project "Support the Moldovan Government in identifying and preparing projects linked to the implementation of the Association Agreement RM-EU" (PPF) held its first Project Steering Committee (PSC) meeting at the Ministry of Finance premises, on 12 of  March, 2021. 

The PSC is composed of representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and the EU Delegation to Moldova. 

The objective of this first Steering Committee meeting was to provide participants with an overview of planned project activities and to discuss progress on implementation. PSC members were pleased with the good collaboration between project beneficiaries and the project team, as well as with the progress of project activities in this initial implementation phase.

Gabriela Cuneva, PSC Chair and State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, emphasised the importance of the project for improving the preparation process for public investment projects and for the management of external assistance. This work is critical for both the Ministry of Finance and line ministries. 

Tatiana Ivanicichina, State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, stressed the need to address the issue of under-execution in public investment projects.
Gintautas Baranauskas, PSC Co-Chair and Deputy Head of Operations of the EU Delegation to Moldova, highlighted that the PPF Project is one of the most important EU technical assistance projects at a critical time for the R. Moldova, and looked forward to seeing the progress of the project in the coming period.  

The next PSC meeting was tentatively scheduled for the end of 2021.
